"This is Angeal Hewley... distinctly not here. Leave a message, and I'll get back to you when I can. If it's important, Lazard, Genesis, or Sephiroth should know where I am."
"Yeah sure, that's fi-" Prompto stops mid-sentence, his cheeks turning bright red. "Wait what?! Dude! Isn't this a place for food?!"
Do not think too hard about any of these nice people naked, Prompto.
Especially the guy in front of you.
"Uh, anyway-" he coughs, and shakes his head, and tries to play it off by hastily taking one of Angeal's suggestions.
"Uhm. A cannoli and coffee sounds pretty good right now. Honestly bring out anything else you think is especially aesthetically pleasing too- not for me to eat of course, but for pics!"
And there's that puppylike enthisiasm again, brightening his eyes. If he had the golden tail Angeal saw him with before, it would definitely be wagging.
Honestly, it's a good thing that Prompto gets straight to the point as he does. His initial reaction, being so flustered and obvious, had been enough to get Angeal's teasing sadism tugged on.
As it is, he actually pauses for a second, and looks over to him from when he'd been in the middle of getting a plate. "You're going to take photos of the food?" he asks, although in no way judgmental. Rather, it's more surprise. He knows the food looks good; being able to experiment with that kind of thing is why he'd been happy to get an upgrade for the bakery. It's just, he hadn't thought anyone would want to take pictures.
"Well yeah!" Prompto responds with gusto, looking down at the back screen of his Lokton camera as he fiddles with some of the buttons. "You seem to know tech, did your world not have like, social media? Posting pretty pictures of food is an art in and of itself. Super popular thing to do, among big influencers. Aaaand-" He gives Angeal a wink, "it can be killer advertising. Really, as an artist, it also is just super fun. 'Specially with stuff presented this nice. I haven't gotten to admire food like this since spending time with Iggy. I used to beg him to let me get pics of his work. I like admirin' food!"
...And maybe the chefs in both these cases, but that isn't a huge deal here. Really!
Upon thinking of Ignis, Prompto's smile falters for just a second, a brief flicker of worry in his blue eyes that dissipates as quickly as it came. He's back to his bright, excitable self. he turns the camera around to show Angeal a series of photos of a particularly nice looking seafood curry. The photos really show every possible good angle of the dish, even capturing the steam rising from the bowl in some of them.
"See? Like this. I swear, I'll enjoy the food too, yeah?"
Jeez, there are so many buttons on that thing. It looks real fancy - the kind of top of the line thing that he'd see in ads on the television that asked for a stupid amount of money. But Prompto talking about advertising himseslf does draw out a chuckle.
"I think our advertising is that we're the only bakery in town," he points out, settling down against the counter with his arms crossed as Prompto leans closer. Prompto may try to hide it, but he catches that somber look. Angeal merely says nothing on it for now, instead craning his head to get a look at that picture. He whistles at the sight, not only from the excellent look of the dish (he might have an idea of what to make tonight, if he can reach the mermaids soon enough), but from that wonderful framing.
"Now isn't that something." He looks back up at Prompto. "But it's not that I doubt you'd do a good job. I just didn't think anyone would want to do something like this." Besides, again, him. "Well, take a seat, and we'll be right over to you. I have to think about what else we have prepared already..."
Cannolis. I see you. Prompto does not. Yet.
